Cornell Lab of Ornithology | Izembek National Wildlife Refuge: Where Life Abounds (Visitor Center) @cornell_lab | Uploaded October 2020 | Updated October 2024, 19 hours ago.
Visit the Izembek National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska. Walrus (@04:50), brown bear fishing for salmon (@07:35), and virtually the entire population of Pacific Black Brant (@12:42) thrive in this unique area. The Izembek Lagoon lies at the heart of the refuge. Here, shallow, brackish water covers one of the world's largest beds of eelgrass, creating a rich feeding and resting area for hundreds of thousands of migrating birds.
