This was one of the wildest giant python captures I’ve ever seen in the Everglades. I’ve handled a lot of massive snakes out here, but I’ve never watched one get controlled the way this one did.

We brought Rener and Ryron Gracie into the swamp for their first Florida python removal. They’re world-class at human grappling, but applying that to a 100% wild, invasive Burmese python is something completely different. Watching someone neutralize a snake this size in real time was unbelievable.
After years of removing these invasive predators, this technique was a first for me. Every python we take out is one less apex predator destroying native wildlife and throwing the Everglades off balance. Nights like this show how fast things can change out here—and why this work matters.
