The YouTube view count update ended up being worse than I thought 😩
YouTube changed how they are counting and displaying views. In a previous video I discussed this, and how I hoped that it wouldn't have a big effect, because it would only be for "auto play" views. Well I was wrong. Views have EXPLODED, some of my videos now show 3x more views, but no additional watch time. And overall it's like an 80% increase, and this is apparently typical. Now it will be even harder to track the true performance of a video.
