His larger point is that the Dunning Kruger effect is not a partisan trait. Hawk argues it shows up just as often on the left as on the right, and he pushes back on the idea that acknowledging hard truths and respecting expertise are somehow in conflict.
On the Clancy case itself, Hawk holds two things at once. He says the expanded public conversation about postpartum depression and postpartum psychosis is genuinely valuable, while also insisting the three children who died deserve to be remembered.
