Joy was completely healthy until a sudden onset of severe bloating and a massive accumulation of abdominal fluid led to a shocking Stage 4 ovarian cancer diagnosis. After initially thinking she had just pulled a muscle during a summer workout, a CT scan and blood work revealed tumors and four liters of fluid. Testing soon confirmed she carried the BRCA2 gene mutation.
