It took me 4 takes to get this performance cuz I couldn’t stop from shaking or my heart from pounding
Garden of Eden is the most important song I’ve ever written. It’s tragic, it’s tender, it’s heart felt. It’s more than a song to me- it’s some sort of force that makes me drop to my knees. For real. I’m literally weak to this song. When I listen to it, Its like I can’t even take credit for making it. As I wrote it, it became its own momentum, a run away fright train. like a psychedelic epiphany of cosmic unity, or some emotion of biblical size… The song is not mine anymore. It’s bigger than me. It’s a spirit of what I will constantly work towards for the rest of my life. Selflessness and service.
The world is a hard place right now, and the future looks bleak. But the most important part of our lives they haven’t takin yet. The ability to love one another. The odds that we are here together right now are staggering, each breath an ABSOLUTE FUCKIN MIRACLE. And I hate it when I forget that. We are standing in the garden of Eden RIGHT NOW. If garden of Eden was the last song I ever wrote I would be completely at peace. I love you.
