When Kevin Ho first arrived at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, the Veteran Success Center helped him establish housing, register for classes, and provided a community that he had been missing since serving in the U.S. Army’s 10th Mountain Division Light Infantry.
Ho is now a sophomore studying supply chain management in the Haslam College of Business and has stepped into several leadership positions across campus, where he continues to foster UT’s supportive environment for student-veterans.
His efforts, which include restarting the Rocky Top Student Veterans of America chapter, have earned him the title of Military Friendly’s 2025 Veteran of the Year in Higher Education.
“Embodying the Volunteer spirit isn’t just about wearing orange,” Ho says. “It’s about putting your name out there and taking on challenges.”
