Animal Totems and the I Ching (second print) :: unboxing and silent flip through

Magickal Moon Cat 2024-08-10 | An interesting deck combining aspects of indigenous animal totems, the I Ching and human design. The flip through starts at 3:38 if you want to just skip forward to that.

The difference between the first and this second print of the deck is card/totem/hexagram 30. It has been changed from the hippo to elephant totem.

An alternative riffle shuffle method :: no more bending tarot cards

Magickal Moon Cat 2023-07-15 | In this video I demonstrate an alternative way to riffle shuffle tarot/oracle cards without bending them, like in the traditional way of riffle shuffling. Not that there's anything wrong with the good old method! But sometimes there are decks that just don't quite riffle that way, or you're like me and have a thing where you just want to minimize any bending. I totally get that!

Anyways, this method works on a variety of decks ranging in card stock type, thicknesses and size (though personally I find it easiest with standard to large sized decks).

Why patience can be a good thing when buying tarot decks

Magickal Moon Cat 2023-06-12 | There's no escaping the fact that we live in a very much capitalist society, and it's hard not to be tempted by new shiny things. I'm just another person that does, from time to time, like to buy new things. However, I think being patient and taking the time to pause, can be helpful when it comes to coping with the bombardment of those sweet temptations.

A lot of what I say in this video feels like common sense to me, but sometimes I feel like when I'm too fixated on something, my common sense just goes out the window. So I'm hoping that this video will serve as a reminder to be patient for those that may need to hear it.

Magickal Moon Cat 2023-05-19 | I’m seeing a lot of discussion around AI in general these days, whether it’s about its ethics and safety, or introducing the many AI tools out there. So I decided to explore websites that give AI tarot readings and see whether they’re any good, and also try to annoy ChatGPT a bit with my questions.

In the spirit of all things AI, I generated the image in the thumbnail using AI (more specifically, DALL-E), and removed some things that I didn’t want in the image using the AI tool in Canva. It was a pretty cool experience I have to say.

I hope these ideas and tips help if you're stuck on some cards, or can offer you some inspiration for reading cards in new ways.

This video is mostly me thinking out loud, though I have tried to put some structure to it. But sometimes I'm not good at finding the right words, so if there's anything that doesn't make sense, please do let me know and I'll do my best to clarify. I am in no way a tarot expert and would love to hear any other ideas or thoughts that you might have!

Magickal Moon Cat 2022-01-22 | Today I’m uploading a different kind of video. The editing took much longer than I thought it would, especially with my horrible flow of speech (I had to edit out so many “um’s” and “uh’s”). I hope it’s something that some of you will find interesting! Please bear with my horrible drawings, I’m not very artistic and the scenes in my dreams can be quite fuzzy as I try to recall them.

To be honest, I’m not sure what to make of these dream memories. Most of my dreams I believe are just regular dreams, though some of them might be lucid dreams. I don’t think any of them involve astral travel, though I would love to experience it someday.
