Dr. Yechiel Leiter served as an adviser to the late PM Ariel Sharon, was Chief of Staff to then-Finance Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Deputy Director-General of the Ministry of Education and acting Chairman of the Israel Ports Company.
He holds undergraduate degrees in Law and Political Science, a Master's degree in International Relations and a PhD in Political Philosophy. Dr. Leiter is also the founder of One Israel Fund.
Ambassador Leiter is a father of eight and grandfather of many. His eldest son, Maj. Moshe Yedidya Leiter, a medical doctor and career officer in IAF special ops and father of six, fell in the line of duty in Gaza on November 10, 2023.
