The group has named Yahya Sinwar as the new head of its political bureau, following the assassination of his predecessor.

Sinwar is seen as the mastermind behind the Oct. 7th attacks against Israel and has close ties to Iran.

His appointment has been met with fury by Israeli forces who have threatened to kill him.
