This video deals with making tiles for the board game, Iso-path. Later videos will deal with fashioning a solid-surface game board and carving the eight play pieces from raw minerals. If you would like to see how to make a wooden game board, or learn how to play, watch the following video:

The tough part about making an Iso-path set is the game tiles. The tiles featured here are made from a set of Carrara marble hexagons. A mosaic set like this is a great alternative to making your own pieces, because hexagons can be picky and tricky. Most home centers will carry several types of these mosaics in stock, especially in ceramic. Just remember that you will need at least 37 tiles.
To the patient, and to young people: the reaction taking place here can be dangerous. But you can also achieve the same weathered marble look in a slower, safer reaction! Old marble buildings, statues, and gravestones have been slowly dissolved by the rain over time. Industry releases stuff into the air which becomes sulfuric or nitric acid in the clouds, and this acid changes the pH of the rain water just a tiny bit. But the Earth is a delicate balance, and even a slight change can be enough to melt rocks! Thus, even mild acids will do the trick with enough time. So if you don't like the idea of working with harmful chemicals, you could try this project by experimenting with vinegar or lemon juice. Try reading about acid rain- it's pretty weird how even tough things have weaknesses.

Of course, I assume no liability for what you do with this information. Before attempting to work with any acid or base, inform yourself. Use all appropriate PPE; avoid any skin (and especially eye) contact, and use only in a well-ventilated area and with respiratory protection. Remember: dust masks DO NOT filter out acid fumes. In fact, even with the appropriate respirator cartridge, I still hold my breath while around vapors that result from chemical reactions.
