My sister knows this talented songwriter, Ron Etheridge, based in Wilmington NC. They played some music together in Wilmington when she lived there. I've been a fan since then. He's a Mississippi child who moved to the coast right before Isabel hit there in 2003. I've loved this song for many years. It has a personal note for me as well. We also moved from Mississippi to have Isabel flood the bottom of our house in 2003. Everything downstairs was a mess of muck and nastiness. We had a foot of water inside the house and three feet surrounding it. I packed the kids up...all four little ones....and ran around catching kitties out of trees and putting all in a car to head to my momma's in Pennsylvania. She called the night prior to make sure I knew of the storm. I'm glad we left and "headed for higher ground" that eery morning in the early light in the "strange atmosphere". Ron Etheridge is a talented man I hope we all hear much more from on a wider stage. He has some music posted here on youtube....check him out.
