Is Your Paint Frozen? Here's How To Fix It! | Country Chic Paint | countrychicpaint.com/blogs/tutorials
When cold weather strikes, paint jars can sometimes freeze during shipping. Even if your local climate is mild, your paint might have to travel through areas that aren't.
The good news is, it doesn't ruin the paint! Country Chic Paint is formulated to withstand several freeze-thaw cycles without permanently damaging the paint.
How to tell if your paint is/was frozen:
1) The jar might feel cold to the touch.
2) You might see crystals on the bottom of the jar.
3) After shaking and stirring, the product looks chunky or grainy.
Here's what to do if you receive frozen paint:
1) Do not attempt to heat the jar in any way! I know it's tempting to try to speed up the process, but this will damage the product and you won't be able to use it afterwards.
2) Let it sit at ROOM TEMPERATURE for at least 24 hours.
3) Once it's fully thawed, give the jar a really good shake and stir for 2 minutes.
4) If you still see any graininess, allow the jar to thaw for a few more hours.
