After further research I found that the bridge that plugs into the camera uses 915 MHz RF communication between it and the Wyze Sense devices. RF has been proven to be very reliable with pretty good range depending on if your home has a crowded RF network at this low frequency, but may impact battery life in the long run, so time will tell if these can hold up.
The Wyze Sense motion sensor can see up to 26 feet away, at 120 degrees.
All in all, for around $5 for each product you really can't beat the price and I am excite to see what they have planned for future implementations with these products.
Support for IFTTT was also just announced, so through IFTTT, these could be connected to just about anything!
