In warm waters around the world, scientists are searching for an unusual organism: placozoa. Though these tiny pancake-shaped animals may seem simple, they offer important insights into the origins of the entire animal kingdom—and may even help us answer questions about cancer. In this video, join Curator Rob DeSalle and Museum research associate Bernd Schierwater of the University of Hanover on a journey to find new placozoa species.
