Another great siding option in a shop is plain 3/4” plywood. We opt for 3/4” for its strength and rigidity. It is great for hanging items from as well as having a flat surface to install benches or shelving against vs ribbed metal. Another side benefit is a slight reduction in echo noise compared to metal. What do you think? Paint or stain it whatever you want and I think it looks great!
