Having the proper rifle when SHTF happens, is very important. In this video I discuss whether the FAL, or more specifically, the DSA SA58 is that rifle.

There are many situations in which a rifle might be needed in a defensive and survival role, so does the FAL perform well for both?

Having a large caliber rifle could be advantageous in some situations, when a harder hitting better penetrating round is needed. Also, the .308 round is very good at taking down deer and other large game in a survival situation.
