I went over an amazing thread that Dr. Hwu put together where he broke these grips down. We take a look to see what his findings were and I add all my thoughts as usual!

I do actually think this grip style is awesome and worth trying if you are curious. I feel like there are interesting advantages that could be fun to play around with especially if it suits your current setup preferences.
