If you’re wondering whether Outbound is worth playing, here are my honest thoughts after playing both solo and multiplayer.
Outbound is a cozy open-world survival crafting game where you slowly turn a tiny camper van into your own mobile home while exploring forests, campsites, mountains, and abandoned landmarks. You gather resources, unlock upgrades, decorate your van, manage power systems, and slowly build a self-sustaining setup while traveling across the world.
In this review, I talk about:
- the gameplay loop
- exploration and progression
- van customization
- solo vs multiplayer
- Steam Deck performance
- crafting and survival systems
- what surprised me most
- where the game starts feeling repetitive

Honestly, this ended up feeling less like a traditional survival game and more like a cozy road trip adventure with sandbox progression and camping vibes.
