In this video I’m taking a deep dive into one of the most controversial signed comics in my collection, a Marvel Milestone Edition X-Men #1, sold as signed by Jack Kirby through Dynamic Forces.
This book comes with a Dynamic Forces COA and was part of a limited run in the early 1990s. However, over the years, collectors have raised serious questions about whether Jack Kirby personally signed all of these books, especially given his health at the time.
Traditionally, many collectors looked to CBCS for independent signature verification, and a number of these books have reportedly failed that process. But now the landscape has changed.
Today, CGC offers signature authentication through JSA, and PSA has officially entered comic book signature authentication as well. That gives collectors new options and new decisions.
This isn’t about calling anything fake, it’s about navigating modern comic collecting, evolving authentication standards, and deciding what makes sense for collectors today.
