Olof Ohman was looking at something that absolutely should not have been where it was. The Swedish born farmer and his ten year old son, Carl, had been clearing a patch of poplars in an unkempt section of the family’s farm in Solem, Minnesota, when they came across an oddly rectangular slab of stone embedded in the roots of one of the old trees. Regardless of the strange shape, Olof thought little of it, but then Carl noticed something on the face and side of the tablet that led them to believe this may be something more than an old piece of discarded fieldstone.
