In this video, we follow up one of the biggest questions asked in the Laura Mulvey Male Gaze video I made a few years ago by investigating whether or not there is a female gaze. We look at Cracks and Mad Men as examples of where it might be found and whether it is as simple as objectifying both genders.
In summary, although there isn't a clear definition of female gaze yet, we can see already that it is used as a means of change for the feminist movement in film.
