Over the past 150 years Earth's entire surface has been warming, except for one patch in the North Atlantic, located southeast of Greenland. This so called 'cold blob' could be an indicator of a worrying change in the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation, or AMOC, a vast system of ocean currents that help regulate global temperatures and weather. Changes in the AMOC could have devastating impacts on our climate.
