The Free Speech Union is challenging the Broadcasting Standards Authority's move to claim jurisdiction over swathes of the Internet, after a case involving The Platform.

FSU Chief Executive Jillaine Heather and chairman Stephen Franks point out the BSA has co-opted a law pre-dating the internet to grant itself authority to regulate all telecommunications in New Zealand irrespective of technology... but curiously exempts certain platforms.

FSU chairman Stephen Franks spoke to Andrew Urquhart about some glaring inconsistencies.
