Is the movie “Signs” actually about aliens? Or demons?

I know, I know. Internet fan theories. Boring! But when I read this one, it’s one of the few that I truly can get behind. There are so many things pointing to this movie being about demons coming up from beneath, rather than Aliens coming down from above.
