RuPaul has no doubt been monumental in bringing Drag culture to mainstream media and shining a light on Ballroom history. That being said… with culture so rich and history that runs so deep… how can one person be the face of it all?
As wonderful as RuPaul’s contributions to the culture have been, we need to cultivate a space in which we can safely criticise RuPaul and the show ✨WITHOUT✨ tearing down Drag Race as the institution that it is (or getting all weirdly right wing about drag queen story time 🙃)
