Resident Evil 8 Village in 2026. How does the game hold up? Over five years after it released, this came off the heels of Resident Evil 7, which is a title that a lot of fans in the series really adored. It really returned to the survival horror roots and it was a very scary game. It was the first Resident Evil game with the first person perspective and they decided to go with that again in Resident Evil 8 and I gotta say I really enjoyed this game. It's definitely a mix of Resident Evil 7 with some more Resident Evil 4 type vibes in it. Definitely a little bit more action oriented. We got the return of Ethan Winters as the main character and this season in a whole new location interacting with people like Chris Redfield. So it's good to see some older characters in the series while also continuing our story with Ethan. The game is definitely very unique with the whole kind of village atmosphere. Definitely reminiscent of RE4, but then all the lycans and stuff is unlike anything we've ever seen in a Resident Evil game. It definitely ditches the more zombie oriented earlier games and overall I think the gameplay is pretty damn solid. It plays a little bit better than Resident Evil 7 in my opinion. Everything just feels a little bit more smooth. Even though it is incredibly similar, all the different castle segments, especially the stuff with Lady D is incredibly interesting. Having her as a stalker enemy is really intimidating and overall I think the gameplay and just how it all flows is really good. I personally still like Resident Evil 7 just a little bit more. Something about the atmosphere in that game and how slow it plays, it's just little bit more fun for me. But this game is still a very solid Resident Evil game and nowadays you can frequently pick it up for $10. I think for that price it's an absolute steal and there's a lot of great content. Let me know down in the comments what you guys think of Resident Evil 8 Village.
