History of Prophecy in Jewish Mysticism | The Biblical Prophets were supposedly the last to hear the voice of God. But two millennia of Jewish mysticism continued this prophetic tradition of listening, and speaking. This tradition of Prophetic Kabbalah (Kabbalah Nevu'it) is often neglected or misunderstood. Here, Adam Zagoria-Moffet attempts to share a brief outline of this important school of thought, some of its main thinkers, and what it might all mean for us today.

From the Bible to the Talmud, from the pietists of Egyptian and German through the Kabbalists, from Abulafia until today – the attempt to hear quiet voice of God stands unsilenced.

Adam Zagoria-Moffet is the rabbi of St Albans Synagogue in the UK. He's a graduate of JTS in New York where he also received an MA in Jewish Thought, studying the political mysticism of Yehudah Ashlag, the Baal Hasulam. He runs an independent publishing house (Izzun books) and teaches Jewish mysticism on social media @Kabbalunch
