Your feelings are important.

And processing any real pain in life is part of healing. Because disease and physical symptoms often have an emotional component. You cannot simply numb out and expect to integrate any level of pain. You simply avoid the real work that needs to occur in order to heal.
With psych meds, we allow people to bypass the essential part of healing that happens with your emotions.
If we are prescribing medications that prevent you from feeling, how are we any different than a drug dealer or a bar?

What if instead of reaching for the quick fix, we felt it all. What if we started to understand our feelings and our emotions as an essential part to true healing and instead of doing our best to avoid them, we dove into them?

Your emotions are a part of your health journey and the less you understand them and heal them, the harder true healing is going to be.
