Jinx is a paradox. Arcane gave her both a hero's arc AND a villain's arc, but you need to do a little digging to uncover just how heroic she is. Considering Piltover's oppression of Zaun, the council's rampant corruption, and the University's wayward technology, characters like Jayce, Viktor, and Mel may not be as good as the show paints them to be. In that context, Jinx can be seen as an admirable hero who has to learn to embrace her broken identity to fight back against Piltover's tyrannical upper class for an independent Zaun. The fact that Arcane is able to tell both stories, one overtly and one more subtly, is absolute genius writing (as always).
