How do you know if iCloud is backing up your Mac, iPhone, or iPad? We're showing you how to easily confirm it! We'll also cover the most common reasons why problems occur.

In this tutorial video I am going to show you how to figure out if iCloud is correctly backing up your data.
If you discover items are not correctly backing up, the most likely culprit is that you probably have multiple accounts which have the ability to sync data. An example of how this can happen is you might put an item into your calendar on your Mac, thinking that it is listed in iCloud, when in fact it is actually communicating with another service (like Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, etc.) which is NOT synced to your other devices.
If you're having trouble with your Photos syncing this is most likely caused by either the wrong settings on your devices or (more likely) that your photos haven't had time to upload to the cloud.

In the Photos App on the Mac, the red dot at the top left which is normally "close" is instead "quit." This means that if you load a bunch of photos into the Photos app and then close the window, it will also kill the upload process. Now that photos are typically getting larger and larger, it takes this upload process longer and longer. For that reason, usually the best way to resolve photo syncing issues is to simply leave your computer on overnight, and also leave open the Photos app (you may need to temporarily suspend energy saver settings to prevent your Mac from going to sleep). If you have mobile devices you'll also want to make sure they are plugged into power and connected to wifi.
