The question has been asked of me a few times as to whether or not the art of drag performance (more specifically drag queens) is transphobic? It's an issue that has cropped up in various places, and having actually been an aspiring drag queen (before I found burlesque) I felt that this was something I should do my best to tackle. The answer is not nearly as straightforward as one might have hoped for. But here we go.
