There's really 2 broad school of thought when it comes to trading shares. There's Technical Analysis (TA) which is basically just using voodoo graphs and lines to try to figure out which way a stock will go. There's also Fundamental Analysis (FA) which is actually analysing a company as a business to see if it has been undervalued by the market.
Either way you'll probably lose over the long term speculating.
