Carsington Water can get VERY busy… but is it still worth a visit?

Carsington Water is one of those places that looks great on Instagram — big views, well-kept paths, and plenty of parking — but I wanted to know what it’s actually like if you walk the entire perimeter.
In this video, I walk the full 8-mile loop around the reservoir, starting away from the main car park, and share what works… and what doesn’t.
Along the way:
– I cover the full perimeter on foot
– Talk about crowds, parking, and busy sections
– Share the quieter stretches that surprised me
– Test footwear and fitness ahead of my Limestone Way charity hike
– And give an honest take on whether it’s worth your time
Carsington Water is easy to access and well set up — but it’s not the place for everyone.
If you’re after convenience and gentle miles, you’ll probably enjoy it.
If you’re chasing solitude, you might want to look elsewhere.
