I decided to visit Akihabara and see just how bad it's gotten in 2026. People say that it's a shadow of its former glory as a geek capital - but is it still worth visiting?

This is a walkthrough of some of the biggest stores in Akihabara, and I also took the opportunity to simply walk around on the streets to show you the full experience of visiting the place. With some random commentary as well!
Anime figures, retro games, random geek merchandise - there's still a lot to find in Akihabara, regardless of whether or not you think that it's gotten too mainstream. I also do some small comparisons of Akihabara vs Ikebukuro and Nakano Broadway, for perspective.
Some of the places I explore of course include Super Potato and the AmiAmi store in Radio Kaikan. But also a lot of other places, big and small. So come along as I walk the streets of Akihabara to see what it's like in 2026!
