Gateway books are always an interesting topic to me, and I think it can be a subjective discussion, but it's always important to understand subgenres within fantasy and the pathway of progression from gateway books to other series within the subgenre.

I want to reiterate here once again that I am not against romantasy, or romantic plotlines within fantasy genres. That's not the point of this. I'd love to hear your thoughts down in the comments!
