Before we can discuss and debate whether there are things such as black hole lurking in the cosmos, it is absolutely essential that we define what a thing is. It turns out that no one in Mathematical Physics ever defined what an object is. Not a single textbook of Physics ever written begins by defining this enigmatic word. This does help explain why members of that guild erroneously regard the black hole to be a thing.
