This video walks you through the simple setup process to ready your Kingston IronKey Locker Plus G2 Encrypted USB Flash Drive for use.

Getting started
Insert the LP50G2 directly into your laptop/desktop. Compatible PC or Mac devices are viable. After your OS detects the drive, select Ironkey.exe in Windows’ File Explorer, or double-click the IRONKEY volume on your macOS desktop then double-click the Ironkey application to begin initialization.
Select your language after following the prompts, and review and accept the license agreement.

Create a password
You can make a password using either the Complex or Passphrase mode. Complex passwords must be between 6-16 characters, containing at least three of the following: upper case, lower case, numerical digit, special character. Passphrase passwords must be between 10-64 characters and can contain any combination of numbers, letters, or special characters.

Admin and User roles
You can enable Admin and User password roles, allowing for multi-password use managed by the Admin. This offers additional useful features. To enable or disable this feature after your LP50G2’s setup, you’ll need to reset the drive and follow these steps to set it up again. Choose your mode, enter your password and a hint to help remember it, then select “enable Admin and User passwords” and click “Next” to proceed with setting up the User password. The mode chosen here will apply to both Admin and User passwords, and cannot be changed unless the LP50G2 is reset. Proceed to create a password for the User role and click “Next”.

Contact information
You will have the option to enter your contact info, such as name, company information, and a contact method such as phone number or email address. These are helpful in case your drive is lost and the information is available for the finder to return it to you. Click “OK” to complete the setup process and unlock the LP50G2 to securely store your data.

To review any changes made during setup, unplug the drive and plug it back in. For more information on additional drive settings and troubleshooting tips, please visit kingston.com/en/support/technical/products/iklp50g2
