Independent Women’s Forum Fellow Dr Qanta Ahmed says Israel has Iran in its “crosshairs” and she expects Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to launch an offensive before the United States election.

“I do believe Iran will be heavily targeted by Israel, I suspect,” Ms Ahmed told Sky News Australia.

“I have no basis for knowing anything specific but I suspect that both the energy installations – Iran operates mostly out of one port, 90 per cent of Iranian petroleum goes to China, but it's only 10 per cent of China's needs – I think Israel will target that.

“And Israel will do its best to dismantle components or perhaps the entirety of the nuclear architecture of Iran, which it needs US munitions and collaboration with.”
