The International Quilt Museum turns 25 this year and to celebrate, the museum is presenting an exhibition series to honor its founding collection: “An Evolving Vision: The James Collection, 1997 - 2022.” In this Textile Talk, IQM Curator of International Collections Marin Hanson will reflect on the past quarter century of collecting textiles from all over the world. From the beginning, the IQM has aimed to represent as many global cultures as possible, an ongoing pursuit that has been helped along by curators, researchers, collectors, dealers, and enthusiasts alike. The “New Horizons” exhibition features a sampling of these international quilts and Hanson will introduce attendees to many of the exhibition objects as well as to some of the globetrotting researchers the IQM has partnered with over the years.
