Bodymakers transform metal cups into tall, thin cans using the draw and iron process:
- πƒπ«πšπ°π’π§π : Shapes the metal without thinning it significantly.
- 𝐈𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐒𝐧𝐠: Thins and stretches the walls for the final can shape.

The cup, pre-shaped in the cupper, is reshaped by the 𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐰 𝐝𝐒𝐞 in the bodymaker. The redraw sleeve prevents wrinkling by applying clamping pressure.

As the cup moves forward:
- It passes through progressively smaller ironing dies.
- These dies thin the walls and elongate the can.
- Proper pressure ensures the can's walls are neither torn nor too short.
