With the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro line taking the camera, battery, and screen to the next levels, many upgraded, but a lot of people did not keep the iPhone 11 and iPhone X as their main phone device. Apple is constantly trying to improve its iPhone while at the same time leaving room for each year to gain people upgrading to boost their annual revenue.

Apple in the past has also slowed down old phones just to get people to upgrade to the new phones. With that being said, Apple is said to be working on a new device possibly called the iPhone Fold, which will rival Samsung's Galaxy Flip Z and Galaxy Fold. Samsung launched two folding phones since 2019 and has seen some marginal success.
