In this HowFixit guide, I’ll show you how to replace a cracked, broken, or defective screen on an iPhone Air from start to finish. We’ll safely open the phone, disconnect the display, move the proximity/ambient light sensor to the new screen, test it, calibrate via Repair Assistant (Parts & Service History), and restore water resistance with new adhesive tape.
⚠️ Notes: After opening, the original adhesive loses sealing properties—replace it to help restore water resistance. With some aftermarket displays, you may see a “display not verified” notification; it doesn’t affect functionality but you should calibrate to ensure accurate touch and brightness.
