🗣 Language Learning on Steroids: How Learning Multiple Languages at the Same Time Can Boost Speed of Acquisition - Stefani Kostadinova
📌“Do not learn multiple languages at the same time – especially of the same language family.” Haven’t we all heard this piece of advice multiple times? Most language experts and polyglots will tell you that learning multiple languages at once is doable, but generally not advisable, and downright out of the question, if you are a beginner or happen to be learning closely-related languages. However, there is no one size fits all in language learning – and even the longest established rules can be broken. In this talk, I would like to discuss how and why learning multiple languages at once has actually been one of the cornerstones of my becoming a polyglot and how you can use it to take your learning to the next level – and have much more fun along the way.
👉 Stefani is a business strategist and management consultant with a passion for languages. An economist by training, she has presented on monetary policy at the World Economic Forum and her work on economics has been published by the Credit Suisse Research Institute. After starting her career at tech and finance companies, Stefani earned an MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business. Post-MBA, she advised billion-dollar companies as a consultant at Bain & Company and currently consults the management of Chaos, an Oscar- and Emmy-winning visualization software company. Along the way, Stefani picked up 8 languages, 5 of which she speaks fluently.
