Slaughterhouse #12 - Gretna Meatworks, Gretna, Tasmania

In 2016, investigators from Farm Transparency Project (then Aussie Farms), Animal Liberation NSW and Animal Liberation Tasmania exposed Gretna slaughterhouse in Tasmania’s south.

Together they uncovered footage of pigs, sheep, goats and cows dying in agony in a brutal, blood soaked kill pen.

This shocked the country and led to national media exposure and widespread public outcry.

Seven years later, we received word that Gretna may no longer be operating, so we went back.

But nothing had changed….
