An insurance company may accept liability (responsibility) for an accident, but still not compensate you to the full extent of your injuries. They will sometimes say that you were not really hurt or that you were not injured as badly as you say. They will sometimes say that your medical expenses are too high and attempt to pay you less for your treatment (as if you have any control over how much your healthcare providers charge you). And, sometimes they will say that their insured was at fault for the accident, but they'll minimize the severity of their insured's negligence or recklessness.
