January the 26th, AKA Australia Day, is the anniversary of British ships arriving in Sydney and beginning colonisation in Australia. While traditionally it's been widely celebrated as a national holiday, in recent years protests led by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander groups have called for the day to be changed. They say colonisation devastated indigenous groups and the 26th of January shouldn't be a cause for celebration.
