I don't know how many chus are needed for Ikana Castle but I usually buy more after the dungeon anyway. I guess you could have 10-15 left if you're careful and definitely if you come in with 40. This is the route I use, idk if it's faster or slower.
I wanted magic near the end but arrow drops for days. Actually I don't remember if those pots drop magic or not anyway lol.
