Here is my submission for this weeks Hardware Jams weekend challenge - Break that beat. The task was to create a jam in any style with a contrasting break in the middle.
I decided to do something in the style of computer game music from the 80s. I found some free Sid chip samples I'd forgotten about which I downloaded from the Elektron website - the 'Sizzler' sample pack - and made most of the music and beats from these in the Digitakt. The Cycles joins in near the end with some extra computer game type noises which were generated using retrig as a modulation source - which can get some pretty crazy results!
