Earlier this year in February Intuitive Machines, a public U.S. company, managed to touchdown on the Moon, albeit, sideways after the lander tipped over. While not ideal, they still managed to complete a decent amount of the mission’s original science goals and objectives. Interestingly, a lot of those objectives apply to the next lander which is in the final assembly stage right now.
The mission, named IM-2, a follow-up to IM-1, will again use the Nova-C lander, which was the same design as the previous lander. The main difference being a change in payloads and mission objectives once it lands on the surface, along with a few upgrades. Here I will go more in-depth into this lander’s current progress, alterations since the last launch, new objectives, and more.
